Decide on a Promising Topic

What interests you? Don't necessarily pick the first item you see — find a topic that has a debatable question that helps us to think about current events.

  • Look at a few news sources
  • Is there enough information? Is there too much information? Pick an article or video with the right amount of depth.

Read With These Questions in Mind

What is the article about?

Does the author seem to be writing about the topic in an objective (unbiased) way? Or does the author seem to be presenting his/her own opinion?

What questions does this article raise for you? What do you wonder about?
